Doug Lashley is the founder and CEO of GreenVest, LLC. He has 42+ years of experience in law, real estate finance, land use, conservation-oriented redevelopment of distressed real estate, green infrastructure, ecological restoration, and mitigation banking. In private practice for over 25 years he handled commercial litigation for secured creditors in the financial services industry. His passion has always been environmental restoration. He is responsible for developing acquisition strategies, handling regulatory negotiations, as well as assessing the financial feasibility of restoration and mitigation projects for GreenVest clients and GreenVest owned projects. Mr. Lashley leads GreenVest’s in house legal, real-estate,transactional, and risk assessment groups. He formulates innovative and community-based approaches for utilizing environmentally impacted real estate to treat corporate, municipal and agricultural water quality needs. Mr. Lashley currently teaches sustainable development practices in the Graduate School of Architecture & Real Estate at the University of Maryland. He continues to be involved in numerous policy initiatives at the Federal and State levels in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed and other locales throughout the United States including the use of green infrastructure to create resilient communities. He has a B.A. from the University of Maryland (1973) and a J.D. from George Mason University (1976).
