Emily Hurley, Law Clerk
Emily Hurley attends the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law, where she expects to graduate in the spring of 2025. Emily is pursuing a certificate in Environmental Law, requiring the completion of several environmentally focused courses. In addition, Emily is also the president of Maryland’s Food Law Society which has helped to establish an herb garden on the fourth floor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Library.
Emily graduated from Washington College with a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy. While at Washington College, Emily was president of her school’s composting team club, philosophy club, and vice president of the Economics honor society. Emily was also an intern for the school’s Department of Sustainability as well as a tutor for statistics and economics. Emily also minored in Asian Studies and completed two years of Mandarin language classes.
Emily is from Ocean City, Maryland, and enjoys visiting both the Ocean City beaches and the Assateague Island beaches. In her free time, she enjoys painting and drawing, practicing film photography, and going on walks.
