Kennedi Fichtel, Staff Attorney
Kennedi joined CLA in 2024 as a staff attorney. Kennedi focuses on enforcement of the Clean Water Act, particularly through actions against facilities that violate their pollution limit permits. She also provides limited legal services for individuals seeking pro bono assistance, education experiences to community members, and she manages CLA’s law clerk program. As a CLA staff attorney, Kennedi contributes knowledge of administrative law, federal environmental law, and trial experience.
Prior to CLA, Kennedi worked as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Judge Jeannie Hong in the Baltimore City Circuit Court, and then as a litigation Associate Attorney in the liability and coverage practice at a mid-sized law firm in Northern Virginia. Kennedi obtained her J.D. from the University of Maryland in 2022, and is currently admitted to practice law in Maryland and Washington D.C. During law school, she obtained an Environmental Law Certification, and published a Law Review Article examining the negative effects of the Fish & Wildlife Service’s decision to define “habitat” under the federal Endangered Species Act.
During her spare time, Kennedi enjoys playing video games and chess, reading fantasy novels, and hanging out with her cat Percy.
