
Lauren Wiederkehr
Lauren Wiederkehr is a rising third-year law student at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she is pursuing a concentration in environmental law with a strong focus on public interest work. Prior to law school, Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from the University of Arkansas and worked in nonprofit administration at a refugee resettlement agency. During law school, she has interned with the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation in Honolulu, HI, contributing to legal efforts that support Native Hawaiian cultural and environmental rights. She has also interned with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, Tribal Resources Section, where she worked on environmental issues in the federal Indian law context. She is excited to strengthen her skills as an environmental advocate and help protect the Chesapeake Bay with CLA.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, listening to podcasts, and going to concerts.
