Chesapeake Legal Alliance is one of the most effective legal representation groups we have in the Chesapeake and Coastal Bays communities.  I cannot stress enough how valuable their work is to Assateague Coastal Trust and to Chesapeake Waterkeepers. They lift up non-profit and community groups who need critical expertise to highlight and fight for the injustices and negative pollution events happening throughout our watersheds.  Their work with us regarding our challenge of the Animal Feeding Operations General Permit was a huge game-changer in the state of Maryland.  Winning this challenge has literally allowed the neighboring communities to breathe a sigh of fresh air, knowing that emissions from CAFOS that contribute to serious health disparities should be regulated by the state.
