Angela Haren, Senior Attorney, Director, Environmental Action Center
Angela Haren is a Senior Attorney and Director of CLA’s Environmental Action Center. She joined CLA in 2019. Angela applies her extensive experience in law, public policy, and coalition building to develop unique, innovative strategies with partners and communities to address the worst sources of Bay pollution. Angela also provides direct legal assistance to clients and leads training sessions through CLA’s Legal Education Center.
As an environmental and natural resource attorney, Angela has focused her career on the intersection of land, freshwater, and marine resource protection. Prior to joining CLA, Angela was the Baltimore Harbor Waterkeeper and directed advocacy, enforcement, and water quality monitoring programs to protect and restore Baltimore’s waterways. She co-founded Clear Resource Law, a firm specializing in legal and policy services for environmental projects. Angela has nearly two decades of non-profit experience including serving as a contract attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council and Program Director for California Coastkeeper Alliance. Angela holds a J.D. with a specialization in Environmental Law from Golden Gate University, an M.P.P. in Natural Resource Policy from UCLA School of Public Affairs, and a B.A. from UC Davis. She is currently a member of the District of Columbia, Maryland, and California Bars.
A native Californian, Angela enjoys exploring her new East Coast home. While she loves cooking, photography, and hiking, she’s always happiest outside on the water.
